Please provide data on SaaS business. In a typical SaaS business, revenue is generated by one or more of the following categories (but not limited to):

• Subscription services: relevant data needed are the number of visitors to the site at the start, growth rate of organic visitors, rate of change of growth, viral rate, subscription fees, upselling services and fees, reporting services and fees, customization services and fees, advertising revenues, API sales, and other sales. The analyst can plug in the relevant data and if necessary leave zeros for categories that are not relevant to the business.
• Product sales: some start-ups may have product sales as well. These can be added in the model — both volume and price for the product are plugged in.

The implied revenue model basically is that the venture has some initial set of visitors, of these visitors some become subscribers who pay for the service offered by the venture. Some of these subscribers buy additional services (upselling), some require customization and some require additional reports. Finally, there are some advertising and API revenue opportunities and some product sales opportunities.

Use the table below to specify the volume and price for each period for each of the different product types.

• Revenue will be calculated as the product of two items (for example, Revenue = Volume_1 * Price_1 + Volume_2 * Price_2 + .. + Volume_n * Price_n).
• The table will not self populate. You have put in data for each period otherwise the default values will be used.
• To change the number of products, you can increase or decrease the Categories - Revenue in the model parameters above.
• If the price increases every period with inflation, then use the Inflation column to specify this.

The fringes are applied to the gross salary additively, i.e., Staff Cost = Gross Salary * (1 + % Fringe). Fringes cover the statuatory tax burden on an employee's salary.

• Use the appropriate inflation measure to increase the costs in the future.
• Dedication reflects if the individual is full time or part time.

Provide data on new employees only. If there are no new employees in a particular period, then just put 0 for that period.

• Do not leave the fields empty.

Provide the details of the recurring costs. These costs are assumed to be incurred every period as indicated. Costs can either be fixed or increase with inflation.

Use the table below to indicate one-off costs. These, as the name suggests, are not incurred every period. Please provide a description of the cost and when it is incurred.

• Use Increase with field to define if the cost will be increased using the inflation factor for the period when the cost is incurred. For example, if the cost will be incurred in period 10, and you know the amount in current period, then you can use Increase with Cost Inflation to indicate that the cost needs to be adjusted for inflation.

Use the table below to specify the different costs for each period that are not included in the recurring costs indicated above.

• Total costs will be calculated as the sum of cost items (for example, Total Cost = Cost 1 + Cost 2 + Cost 3 + Cost 4 + ... + Cost n.)

Provide the details for each of the capital cost items that will be subject to depreciation.

• We assume straight line depreciation.
• To change the number of capex items, you can increase or decrease the Capex Items in the model parameters above.

Provide the details of financing.

• Start with Cash from Founders
• Indicate how many shares are issued at the beginning.
• Then provide information on upto 5 rounds of funding.
• Amount of funding?
• When is the funding provided?
• Who is providing the funding?

Provide additional details for your model.

• Minimum Cash is often required by Lenders.
• Minimum Cash can be financed either via Equity or Short Term Loans (at least for this model; there can be various other ways also). If you pick Short Term Loans, then please provide the interest rate for short term debt.
• Provide the valuation multiplier. We use EBITDA as the valuation basis.
• Provide the tax rate, the discount rate for NPV calculations, the inflation rates for cost and revenue items.
• The AP days and AR days are used to compute the accounts payable and accounts receivable amounts.
• the sensitivity factors can be used to test the sensitivity of the results to changes in either cost or revenues.
• Dividend rate and long term growth rate are the final factors that need to be provided. Dividend rate specifies the level of dividend and the long term growth rate is used to estimate the terminal value.
